⏱️ 1. Processing Time

Unlike standard retail goods, living plants require special preparation before they begin their journey. Our goal is to ensure they arrive in peak condition.

  • Preparation (3-7 Business Days): For succulents, cacti, and certain saplings, we carefully unpot, wash away the soil, and dry the roots for 48-72 hours. This critical step prevents root rot during transit.
  • Peak Season: During busy gardening seasons (Spring and Fall), processing times may be slightly extended. We appreciate your patience as we give every plant the careful attention it deserves.
  • Order Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email immediately upon placing your order, followed by a tracking number once your package leaves our nursery.

🚚 2. Shipping Rates & Methods

We ship exclusively within the United States (Domestic USA). Our shipping rates are simple and based on your order total:

🚫 3. Shipping Restrictions (Agriculture Laws)

To strictly comply with USDA and state agricultural regulations, the following restrictions apply:

  • Excluded States: Unfortunately, we cannot ship live plants to Hawaii (HI) or Alaska (AK) at this time.
  • Regional Bans: Certain fruit trees and specific species may be restricted in states like CA, FL, AZ, and TX. If your order contains a restricted item for your location, our team will contact you promptly to arrange a safe replacement or full refund.

🌵 4. Bare-Root vs. Potted Shipping

We prioritize plant vitality above all. Different plants require different travel arrangements:

  • Succulents & Cacti (Bare-Root): For safety and hygiene, these are shipped strictly soil-free. Shipping wet soil in a dark box is the leading cause of succulent root rot. Bare-root shipping is the professional nursery standard, ensuring a clean, rot-free arrival.
  • Tree Saplings (With Soil): To protect deeper root structures and facilitate immediate growth, saplings are shipped with a nutrient-rich soil/moisture buffer wrapped around the roots.

💡 Pro Tip: Please have your well-draining soil and favorite pots ready before your package arrives!

🌡️ 5. Weather Holds (Safety First)

We monitor US weather patterns daily. If extreme freezing temperatures or severe heatwaves are forecasted in your area or along the transit route, we may temporarily hold your shipment to protect your plants. You will be notified via email if this occurs.

* Winter Orders: If you reside in a colder climate, we strongly advise adding a Heat Pack to your cart during the winter months.

📍 6. Address Accuracy

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout! SoilSong cannot be held responsible for packages that are undeliverable, lost, or delayed due to an incorrect address. Plants are living organisms and cannot survive prolonged transit delays.

📦 7. Tracking & Immediate Unboxing

Once your order is scanned by the carrier, you will receive an email with your tracking link. Please track your package closely.

⚠️ Crucial Step: Please unpack your plants immediately upon arrival. Leaving live plants enclosed in hot mailboxes or on freezing porches for even a few hours can be fatal to them.
